The Smith & Wesson Response® 9mm in its 10-round, fixed-stock configuration is a purpose-built Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) designed to meet strict state compliance requirements, specifically in California. By utilizing a “featureless” design—including a fixed stock and a paddle-style grip—this rifle allows shooters in restricted states to enjoy the performance of the Response platform while remaining fully legal.
